I have cats, and each time we have a new kitten, the most popular thing to do is to ruin my silk curtains. Unfortunately Che died last year and the ruined curtains were still a sign that we had a kitten. After 6 months it was time to do something about this. I still had silk left over (a good thing I had bought 20 m in Cambodia) and made a new set of curtains. The window looks presentable again (10 March).
