Project 7 Happy baby quilt

The happy baby quilt for Alix is finalized, I love how it turned out. I made quite a bunch of half triangle squares, laid them out on the table without any plan and just loved the result.

And glacon my cat also loves the quilt, she gives me the "stay away, this is mine" look.

Thursday will hand over all the gifts to my friend (the new grandmother) and hope that her son and wife (the new parents) like the quilt.

Making this quilt from start to finish was my February One Monthly Goal organized by Patty at Elm Street Quilts. Happy dance as I finished in time.

I did not make a specific label, I know I should. This will be something to think of for the next quilt. I did however, iron my name on the quilt

Project 6 Candy cane socks

In December I bought some lovely candy cane sock yarn. Started knitting, and they made a lovely on-the-go December project. I also knitted as we were watching Star Wars movies. Reminder to self: do not do the kitchener stitch while watching SW, it does not add to the beauty of the socks. Socks pair number 6.

I managed to finish them before the winter is over, right in time for Christmas 2018.

Project 5 Hand knitted hat

Phil wanted a hat, he has been asking for a long time, a very long time. At first the kids were going to make him one using a loom. They each started two years ago and the projects were abandoned. So I frogged one and made the hat. For extra warmth it was line with a fleece hat.

Baby quilt in happy colours

A friend of mine became a grandmother. I bought some gifts from the Netherlands that are typical Dutch, a fork and knife set from Jip and Janneke, a plate and bowl also with Jip and Janneke. I asked what I could buy as I wanted to complement what I had bought. The baby already has a lot, so she could not think of something. After some thinking, I thought, well of course, I should make a baby quilt. For sure the baby does not have a hand-made quilt.

I broke my good intentions and went to the store to buy happy fabric.

And started cutting 5 inch squares. No idea what design I was going to make, and 5 inch squares seem to be a good start.

For February my One Monthly Goal hosted by Patty at Elm Street Quilts, is to make a baby quilt from start to finish.
